In this article, we will show you how you can get a precise cutout.
You can find the instructions for the following software versions:
inPixio Photo Studio 12
- On the home screen choose the mode Remove Background.
- Choose the image you want to edit. The background will be removed automatically.
- To adjust the cutout, open the Adjustments section and click on Selection.
-
You will see the split-screen open. The original copy of the image with the markings will be on the left. On the right side, you will see the part of the cutout result.
- Here you can choose between 3 options. You can choose to define the foreground, background, or edge. The foreground is marked with green color, the background is red, and the edge is yellow.
- Select the brush size and make the needed adjustments to the photo.
- Mark the parts you want to remove with red as the background and the parts you want to keep with green as the foreground. Make sure to outline the edge with yellow to make the edges softer. You can also mark the fine details with yellow as we've done with the butterfly's legs and antennas.
- Open the Edge section to adjust the Smoothing and Contrast settings for the edges.
inPixio Photo Studio 11
- Upload your photo into inPixio Photo Studio. Open the Background module if you want to change the background. Open the Photomontage -> Cut out tool if you want to create a cutout with a transparent background.
- Here you can choose between 3 options. You can choose between Background to erase, Subject to keep, and Erase the marking tool. The Background to erase is marked with red color and the subject to keep is green.
- Mark the area you want to remove with the Background to erase tool. You will see the preview window open. On the left, you will see the original copy of the image. On the right side, you will see the resulting cutout.
- Mark the parts you want to remove with red, and the parts you want to keep with green. For example, we marked the butterfly's legs and antennas with green and the parts of the background that remained with red.
- Adjust the brush size to fix small details.
- Click on the Enhance edges tool on the right panel to change the Edge smoothing and Contrast settings.
