Advise on Photo Cutter

Hi, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here ? 

First I cut the existing photo so that for cutter I would only have to concentrate on the round top edge of this painting. However when I use the cutter, it not only marks the area above the painting but also selects areas on the painting. Off course I want to keep those. A previous effort on a different photo for tetst reasons worked OK but finalizing through a reported effort gives me this result. Any advise is welcome!

  Thank you for reaching out. 
  
  The picture in question is being cut out by using the "red" marker or the "mark the area that needs to be cut out".
  
  What is happening is that the software's AI is indicated that this area is with the same signature and automatically removes it. 
  
  To avoid that, please apply the "green" marker or the "mark the area that needs to be kept" option and the AI will not touch the previously cut out sections.
