Network NAS Server Access
AnsweredAll of my images are stored on our home NAS server, but apparently InPixio Studio 10 doesn't recognize a mapped network drive? When I open InPixio & try to go to that mapped drive, it's not listed in the available drives? I need to know how to access a mapped network drive asap. Thanks! Twila

Hi Twila,
Thank you for your post. Let me help you with that.
Frankly speaking, I would advise you to copy the photos you wish to edit to your local drive as this is the easiest way to get the issue solved. The same for file saving.
This problem can occur because UAC treats members of the Administrators group as standard users. Therefore, network shares that are mapped by logon scripts are shared with the standard user access token instead of with the full administrator access token.
You can configure the registry value, which allows Windows to share network connections between the filtered access token and the full administrator access token for a member of the Administrators group.
Please note that the incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
I will try to get more information from our developers and get back to you soon.
Regards!

Hi Twila,
I've got a response from developers that they have just made a couple of testing and nothing negative came up.
This should work since it is managed by Windows directly (not InPixio), so, apparently, there is a need to change some Windows settings for your PC. Lets try to fix it for you.
On the same computer, can you see your drive outside inPixio? Could you please try with different applications?
If yes, please open InPixio software and click on Open and scroll again to check.
Send us 2 screenshots of each to see the difference and investigate the case.
Regards!

Lola,
Thanks for getting back to me. Although, at this time all seems to be fine. Maybe I just had a hiccup in our home network at the time I was trying to access our NAS. Again, thank you for responding so quickly and for getting answers. But, I'm accessing the NAS via InPixio at this time without any problems! Thank you again!
