In this article, we will show you how you can add elements to your image using Photomontage.
You can find the instructions for the following software versions:
inPixio Photo Studio 12
- On the home screen choose the Make Photomontage mode.
- Choose the image you want to edit.
- The Photomontage tool will automatically create a cut-out and place it on a template. In case you want to work with the whole picture, you need to click on the Custom tab.

Choose the first option in the custom tab to return the original background of the picture.

- Select More items -> Text section.
- You can add your own text by clicking Add text button or you can choose one of the templates.

Adding Stickers to your Photomontage
- Select More items -> Graphics section.
- Choose a sticker from one of the three categories - Birthday, Love, and Shapes.
- Drag the sticker you want to use and place it on your photo. Once placed you can change the sticker's size by dragging the blue boxes.
- You can adjust the sticker's opacity in the bottom menu.
- You can also change the color of the stickers from the Shapes section.
- You can also change the position of your sticker by either bringing it forward or sending it backward. This setting is used when you have a lot of objects in the photo that may overlap.
Adding Images to your Photomontage
- Select More items -> Images section.
- You can choose from one of the three categories - Hair, Glasses, and Hats.
- You can also add your own image. Open the category My Images and click on the plus icon. Select Adding images... to add the whole image. If you choose Adding and clipping images... AI will automatically make a cutout of the selected image. A Browse window will open allowing you to choose an image from your PC.
- Drag the image you want to use and place it on your photo. Once placed you can change the image size by dragging the blue boxes.
- You can adjust the opacity of the image in the bottom menu.
- You can also change the position of your sticker by either bringing it forward or sending it backward. This setting is used when you have a lot of objects in the photo that may overlap.
Saving your Photomontage
When you are done, you need to save your modifications.
- Click on the Save button on the top panel.
- Choose the folder to save the photo and the file name. Click Save.

- Open a photo in the inPixio Photo Studio. Click on the Photomontage Logo.

- Click on the Text Logo.
- Hold down your left mouse button on the sample of your choice and drag it where you want to put it on your Photomontage.
- Double-click on the Text Box to edit the text.
- Click on Adjustments to modify your Text Font, Font Color, Size, and more.

Adding Stickers to your Photomontage
- Click on the Stickers Logo.
- To add a sticker to your project, hold down your left mouse button and drag the sticker where you want to put it.
- You can resize your sticker by dragging one of the corners of the image.
- To rotate the image, hold the left mouse button on the Rotation Logo and drag your cursor.
You can change the colors of your sticker.
- Click on the Adjustments Logo.
- Click on a color to change it.
- Choose a new color from the palette.
Adding Images to your Photomontage
- Click on the Cut-out Images Logo.
You can choose an image from the inPixio library or you can add an image from your computer by clicking on Add... in the section My cut-out images.
- To add an image to your project, hold down the left mouse button and drag the image where you want to put it.
- You can resize your image by dragging one of the corners of the image.
- To rotate the image, hold the left mouse button on the Rotation Logo and drag your cursor.
You can overlap multiple elements by putting some elements in the foreground and others in the background. To do so, click on the element of your choice and choose one of the following options:
- Bring to Front: To bring your element to the front.
- Bring Forward: To bring your element one layer forward.
- Send Backward: To send your element one layer backward.
- Send to Back: To send your element to the back.
You can also change the opacity of your images.
- Click on the Adjustments Logo.
- Move the opacity slider or change the percentage.
To remove one element from your Photomontage, select the element your want to remove and click on the Delete key on your keyboard.
You can also remove all the elements on your Photomontage at once.
- Click on the Reset arrow next to Photomontage.
Saving your Photomontage
When you are done, you need to save your modifications.
- Click on the Disk Logo on the top panel.
A browse window will open.
- Choose the location where you want to save your photomontage.
- Name your project.
- Click on Save.
Another window will open to let you decide the properties of your photomontage.
- Choose the quality in which you want to save your photomontage.
- Choose the size for your photo.
- Click on Save.
